Annual Christmas “Light up” Parade”
November 18, 2024
Forestport, NY
Looking for a NEW and UNIQUE way to celebrate the Christmas Holiday –
celebrate in Forestport, NY with the……..
Annual Christmas “Light Up” Parade on Saturday December 14, 2024
At 4:30 PM the Annual Light Up Parade participants will line-up and register as an Individual or as a GROUP in the Parking Area across from St. Patrick’s Church.
Everyone in the “Light Up’ Parade is asked to carry some type of lighting. You can bring lighted and decorated wagons, strollers, wheelbarrows and carriages – your imagination is the only limit. Motorized vehicles are permitted.
The Parade will proceed through the streets and everyone will assemble in the Memorial Park on Woodhull Road for the arrival of Santa right before the Lighting of the Community Christmas Tree by Town Supervisor TJ Entwistle. There will also be singing of Christmas Carols.
And again this year, South Trenton Carriage Company will enter the Parade compliments of community donations with special mention of the Kayuta Lake Improvement Association who also will enter a float in this parade. The South Trenton wagon will be pulled by a pair of Clydesdale horses and will provide rides during the visits before and after with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The Children will then proceed to the in the Forestport Fire Department to meet Santa and receive their special presents compliments of the Wigwam’s Annual Community Toy Drive, beverages and snacks and again this year – a book from the Forestport Book Club.
This unique parade is sponsored by the Forestport Fire Department, St. Patrick’s Church, the Presbyterian Church, the Senior Recreation Program, Go With the Flow and Snow Kayakers and Cross Country Skiers, the O’Meara family, Daryl and Missy Parsons, Mary Healt, Jim and Joan Snook, the Forestport Diner, WILCOR INTERNATIONAL and the Corrigan Family, the Forestport Book Club, Woodgate Volunteer Fire Department, Kayuta Lake Improvement Association, the Wigwam, Scooter’s, the Forestport Diner, Alder Creek Beverages, Trackside Blazers Snowmobile Club and the Town of Forestport.

Dutch Field Playground
For many years the Dutch Hill Ball Field and playground have been a gathering place for people of all ages. Whether you were a ball player getting ready for the big game, parent coming to cheer on your child or just a spectator coming to enjoy the sport and support the concession stand for your dinner choice, the ball field has seen many people come and go. A special thank you to all the dedicated fans and townspeople who have supported and will continue to support the ball field and the Forestport Athletic Association. We invite you to come and enjoy our ball park.
Our little ballfield is the home to t-ball players, little leaguers, and softball both slow pitch and fast pitch. We welcome everyone!
