CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 6:15 pm by Supervisor Entwistle

LEGAL NOTICE:
Supervisor Entwistle read the legal notice aloud.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:

• Supervisor Entwistle started the meeting off by stating NYS set a directive that all NYS towns with sewer districts have this upgrade by 2024. Two years ago, the town received $20,000 to pay for almost all of the engineering report. The town also received a grant for 1.3 million dollars. The Sewer District is responsible for $375,000 if no loan is received. The town has applied for another grant to offset that cost but was denied. There is an opportunity for another grant, and the town will apply again. There are 80 units on the sewer district, so it would be an approximate $146/year assessed to each unit. It will be approximately $12-$16 more dollars a month per unit with a 30-year loan that only those on the sewer district will be responsible for.

• Someone in the gallery asked when the original sewer loan from 1997 expires and it was answered 2032.

• It was asked if the town is able to use money from the American Rescue Act for this project. Supervisor Entwistle stated the American Rescue Act money belongs to all taxpayers. Sewer and water revenue needs to stay with the sewer and water district.

• It was asked who was writing the grants and it was answered, Jennifer Piper, from J. Piper Consulting; an independent woman owned business.

• Construction will begin in 2023. Supervisor Entwistle thinks once the project is complete, the bills will be increased. He has reached out to Senator Griffo and Congresswoman Tenney’s offices to see what else could be done and is waiting on a response.
